Kiri Mckenna Ring - no. 18
Stirling Silver rings number 17 & 18 are part of an ongoing series by artist and architect Kiri Mckenna. The rings explore the overlaps between how we present ourselves to the world, how we feel the world through touch, and how our hands and specifically fingers are a specific point of sensory experience and information. Our fingers connect, feel, change, create, caress, communicate... What we feel on our skin and at our fingertips is the meeting moment and the boundary between. Between us and the physical world, and between us and the ones we love.
The rings have been created through an intuitive, autodidactic process. Letting her hands feel their way to a ring form that is both adornment, and tactile experience. Each ring is unique; individually carved in wax and then cast in sterling silver. Kiri Mckenna ( she/her. Pakeha) is based in Tamaki Makaurau where she lives with her love.
